About this Event
‘from one to another’ is an exhibition featuring four alumni from the City & Guilds of London Art School. It celebrates the start of a collaboration between the CGLAS and Durning Library.
For this show, the artists drew inspiration from both the community they built as students and the connections found within the local area.
The four artists in the group previously studied on the BA Fine Art course. Having witnessed firsthand the sharing of ideas and experiences that flows from one cohort to the next, they have seen how these interactions shape each artist's work. This exhibition is an opportunity to expand that spirit into the wider Kennington community. ‘from one to another’ champions the conversation and camaraderie that takes place whenever art is shared between people.
The group will be running two free workshops at the library, alongside the exhibition for everyone to take part in:
Workshop 1: 12- 3pm Friday 8 May
Workshop 2: 12-3pm Saturday 16 May
Participants will be able to make their own artworks, passing on the things the artists learnt during their time at CGLAS. Materials provided as well as free biscuits!
The workshops are free, but space is limited. Please note that only ticket holders will be admitted.
