This session on August 20th walks aspiring food entrepreneurs through the essential steps of launching and growing a value-added food business in Mecklenburg County. Topics include understanding product risk categories, navigating home versus commercial processing requirements, identifying the right kitchen or facility, and decoding the regulatory landscape (NCDA&CS, FDA, and USDA). Participants will also learn the building blocks of food business development — from costing and pricing to labeling compliance and micro-batch testing — with practical guidance on how to take their next steps confidently.
