Once upon a time in a bookstore that’s near…A gathering of those who hold fantasy dear!
Join us for our first ever Friends of Fantasy Day, a celebration of all tales fantastical and strange! Come out to the bookstore on January 31st for a day honoring fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and weird lit!
The day’s special events kick off with a dragon storytime at 11 AM. Our youngest fantasy fans will read The Bakery Dragon and the Fairy Cake by Devin Elle Kurtz and make a dragon craft.
At 12:30 we’ll be hosting a Trinket Trade! Bring small keepsakes like buttons, pins, bookmarks, rocks or other small things to offer up for trade.
From 12:30 to 5:30, we’ll open our Mapmaking craft station for teens and adults who would like to practice drawing and designing their own fantasy maps!
At 1:30 our booksellers will be judging our Costume Contest! Wear your best fantasy or sci-fi costume to participate in the contest - the winner will take home a special prize!
And then at 3 PM, step right outside the bookstore for the Denham Springs Mardi Gras Parade!
