Hello!Welcome to Friendly Fire 2, this time it's Old World.
Full event pack: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uH0aqREYEmoViXFs52b58uIah2ptxEdK/view?usp=sharing
Format:
• 1500 pts of Warhammer The Old World – any armies, including legacy, allies, and mercenaries
• You will always be playing against the army you have brought along using the army your opponent has brough along. This means others will be handling your models so keep that in mind when choosing which ones to bring
• Players should be willing to help opponents remember special rules for their army so that no-one is penalised for not knowing their own troops!
• Due to format, army lists are entirely open
• 1st round will be randomly paired
• Future rounds seeded based on results
• All players must regularly wash hands, and not handle greasy food before touching other people’s models
Timings:
• 1030 check in opens
• 1050 briefing and reminder of format/rules
• 1100 – 1300 game 1 (2 hours)
• 1300 – 1345 lunch (45 minutes) – vote for various awards
• 1400 – 1600 game 2 (2 hours)
• 1615 – 1815 game 3 (2 hours)
• 1845 results
Army selection:
• Any army from The Old World, including allies, mercenaries, etc.
• Army lists must make it clear which army composition list they are using
• Armies must not deliberately under-point themselves
• Armies must be legal
• Armies must include at least 25% taken from the special and rare sections of the relevant army composition list
• Armies must include at least 25% taken from the characters section of the relevant army composition list
• Armies to be reviewed by TO*
• Any odd interactions designed to ‘weaken’ an army need to be clearly marked on the army list. For example taking an item that makes a unit immune to psychology when the unit is stubborn (thereby removing their stubborn-ness!)
• Redundant choices (frenzy banner on a frenzied unit for example) are discouraged as they are point wasting. As army lists are open, items that rely on secrecy should also not be taken
• Armies can include special characters
Player Responsibility:
Players are responsible for bringing:
• Models
• Movement trays
• Rulebooks
• Army books for the army they bring
• Relevant FAQs
• Dice
• Tape Measures
• Objective Markers
• Large tray (to easily move your whole army from table to table).
Scenarios
All scenarios taken from the main rulebook:
• Game 1: Open battle
• Game 2: Break point
• Game 3: Command & Control
Lunch:
Lunch is not included in the ticket price. There are pubs, fast food shops and supermarkets within a 2 min walk from the venue.
Tournament organiser (TO) and Rulings:
Any rules disputes should be settled in a friendly spirit, using the rulebooks/faqs etc. I will also be on hand to make any rulings as required so please grab me if needed. Once I make a ruling it is considered final. Ruling’s may be decided by a roll off.
Cocked dice:
Players should agree before each game what constitutes a cocked die. If no agreement is made, the default is that all dice must be re-rolled unless entirely flat
Painted armies, Conversions and Proxies:
There is no requirement to use GW models but base sizes should follow the Old World rules. Armies must be painted, at least 3 colours, based, and rank and file units must have all equipment modelled appropriately (there is some leeway for characters). Conversions are welcome as long as it is clear what the model is. If you have any doubts please contact me at [email protected] or message me on facebook or WhatsApp.
Fair play and conduct:
Whilst this is a tournament, it is a silly one and the main objective is still for everyone to have a great time! Players are therefore expected to behave in a civil and respectful manner to one another at all times and generally treat each other as they would like to be treated.
Players are given a single warning when their behaviour toward other players is considered unacceptable. If the behaviour persists, the player may be disqualified. There is zero tolerance for cheating. Players found to be cheating will be immediately disqualified.
Terrain
Terrain should be discussed by players to ensure that they are both happy with what everything counts as. This might mean that the same terrain piece changes slightly from game to game if you are on the same board!
If there are any disagreements, then the TO will make a final decision.
On all boards:
• Woods are infinitely tall
• Hills are infinitely tall
Terrain should be scattered 2d6 inches before deployment. This is so that players who end up on the same board have slightly different terrain. If it hits a board edge it bounces in a trajectory roughly equal in angle away from the path it was travelling on.
Prizes
Several prizes will be offered (actual prize subject to availability):
• Best general – the player with the most tournament points at the end of the day. If tied, it will be decided by the winner between the two players if they faced each other, then by the players combined victory points difference throughout the day, then victory points scored, and then it is still tied a game of “rock, paper, scissors”.
• Wooden spoon – like best general, but at the other end of the table
• Best army – decided by anonymous popular vote, players should include painting, modelling, theme, and any other variables they think are important!
• “Sneaky git award” – Weakest army, decided by anonymous popular vote
• “Glutton for punishment” – Strongest army, decided by anonymous popular vote
• “Huh, I didn’t think of that” – Most interesting attempt to create a Friendly Fire army, decided by anonymous popular vote
