FRIDAY THE 13th on… Friday, the 13th….? (So meta!)The Rio Theatre‘s Friday Late Night Movie series continues on March 13 with a 40th Anniversary screening of the sixth installment of the legendary franchise, JASON LIVES.
In this installment, Tommy Jarvis and a friend exhume Jason’s corpse in order to cremate homicidal maniac Jason Voorhees once and for all. In spite of their earnest attempts to finish off the infamous killer, things go awry when Jason is instead resurrected, sparking a new chain of ruthlessly brutal murders. Now it’s up to Tommy to stop the dark, devious and demented deaths that he unwittingly brought about. With Thom Mathews, C.J. Graham.

FRIDAY THE 13th PART VI: JASON LIVES (Tom McLoughlin, 1986 / 96 mins / R) Years ago, Tommy Jarvis killed infamous hockey-masked murderer Jason Voorhees, and the intensity of the experience has landed him in a mental institution. To end his torment and achieve a level of closure, Tommy escapes from the hospital and heads to the graveyard where Jason is buried, intending to dig up the body and cremate it. But, before this total annihilation can occur, a freak electrical accident resurrects Jason from the dead, and the terror begins anew.
