Panic at the Paramount Presents
Slasher Bloodlines: FRIDAY THE 13TH (1980) + A BAY OF BLOOD
Double Feature
The State Theatre
Friday, October 2, 2026
Doors: 6pm
FRIDAY THE 13TH: 7pm
A BAY OF BLOOD: 8:50pm
FRIDAY THE 13TH
(1980, 95min/color, DCP) Betsy Palmer, Adrienne King, Harry Crosby, Laurie Bartram, Mark Nelson, Jeannine Taylor, Robbi Morgan, and Kevin Bacon. Directed by Sean S. Cunningham.
Inspired by the success of John Carpenter’s HALLOWEEN, Sean S. Cunningham (producer of Wes Craven’s THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT) famously placed an ad in Variety announcing FRIDAY THE 13TH as “the most terrifying movie ever made!” This seemed wildly confident, considering the script hadn’t even been written yet. But the finished product was indeed a smash at the box office, introducing the world to Jason Voorhees, his hunting grounds on Camp Crystal Lake, and an iconic horror film score. HALLOWEEN may be the godfather of the genre, but FRIDAY THE 13TH is the mother of all slashers, celebrating its latest entry with the prequel series “Crystal Lake” premiering later this month!
