Friday Night Mahjong Club - September 11th

Join me for a fun and welcoming Friday night of Hong Kong–style mahjong, hosted by Mahjong United, a community mahjong program. Whether you've never touched a tile or you've been playing since childhood, there's a seat for you — beginners sit at tables next to lifelong players, and that's the point. It's how most of us learned.

Light refreshments and alcohol-free beverages are served. Feel free to BYOB.

Two ways to join: the Crash Course for beginners starts at 6:30 PM, and social play — open to all experience levels — starts at 7:30 PM. Pick the ticket that fits where you're at.

Crash Course for Beginners + Social Play — 6:30 to 10:30 PM Never played, or played once and forgot everything? Start here. One hour of hands-on basics — the tiles, building the wall, how a hand comes together — so you can sit down at a real table at 7:30. Includes the rest of the night.

Social Play — 7:30 to 10:30 PM For anyone who already knows the basics and just wants to play. Come alone, come with three friends, come with one friend and we'll find you two more. We'll seat you.

• A relaxed, social, and welcoming environment
• A curated mahjong playlist of 80s–90s Hong Kong classics
• Light refreshments and drinks included (BYOB welcome)
• Hong Kong style (traditional) mahjong — no card, no scorecard to memorize
• Self-help guides available during social play (no formal lesson) and plenty of helping hands around the room
• Nothing to bring — tiles and tables are provided
