Freelancers’ Focus Group: Help shape Norwich Theatre’s approach to working with freelancers

Norwich Theatre is developing a new Freelance Charter to support transparent, inclusive and positive relationships with freelancers across the organisation.
We are inviting freelancers of all specialisms who have not previously worked with Norwich Theatre to take part in a focus group led by independent consultant, Laura Crossley.
We particularly want to understand how Norwich Theatre can make its opportunities and engagement processes more open and accessible to a diverse range of specialist and emerging practitioners.
The discussion will explore:
- perceptions of Norwich Theatre as a place to work;
- how and where freelancers look for opportunities;
- what might encourage or prevent someone from applying for work;
- what freelancers need from recruitment and contracting processes;
- what good communication, support and inclusion look like; and
- how Norwich Theatre could build stronger relationships with freelancers it has not worked with before.
You do not need to know much about Norwich Theatre to participate. Your perspective will help shape the new Charter and recommendations for improving access to freelance opportunities.
The focus group will run from 10–11.30am. Participants are warmly invited to stay from 11.30am–12.30pm for informal socialising and networking with other freelancers. Refreshments will be provided.
