So wrote the great Scottish poet Robert Burns more than 200 years ago, a line that would later find new life among fans of the beloved romance series Outlander. This July, as America prepares to celebrate Independence Day (and its 250th birthday no less) we're raising a glass to freedom, whiskey, literature, and a little romance.

Join us at Swoon Books & Wine for Freedom & Whisky, an evening inspired by Burns' famous verse, celebrating our American independence, and the enduring connection between books and spirits. We'll feature a guided tasting of three American whiskies, curated and poured by the knowledgable Rachel Jensen of RNDC, which will explore the flavors and stories behind some of the country's finest distilling traditions. Of course, we will be featuring the Bobby Burns cocktail, a classic Scotch-based drink named in honor of the poet himself.
