Free Teacher Workshop: Self Portraits for Social Emotional Growth
Schedule
Mon Feb 24 2025 at 04:30 pm to 06:30 pm
UTC-08:00Location
SCRAP | San Francisco, CA

About this Event
We will use paint, glue, cut paper, and the treasure-chest of SCRAP materials to explore self-portraiture. Techniques will include language and literacy approaches as well as art and craft.
How can we communicate information about ourselves and strengthen our sense of self and our relationship of others? Create self portraits! We will experience the stress-reducing impact of creative exploration for ourselves and our students. Teachers will learn how to structure a variety of self portraiture projects for students using repurposed materials or materials from everyday life. Teachers will learn creative skills to support social emotional curriculum and literacy development through the exploration of self portraiture.
