KCDSA just had its 3rd successful FREE Tail Light Clinic!!! Enormous congrats to all our amazing volunteers and partners, who have helped repair over 130 vehicles with broken turn signals and tail lights since March!!!
We are thrilled to announce our next clinic coming July 25th, to be hosted at Good Shepherd United Methodist! 9555 North Oak Trafficway, KCMO 64155. This clinic will be held in partnership with Northland Community Defense. We can’t wait to see you there!
⁉️Whats a Free Tail Light Clinic?
We live in a society that is broken down by capitalism in a kaleidoscope of ways. This leads to daily life where working class folks struggle to make ends meet, moms and dads juggling kids and the bills and groceries and a broken dishwasher, and all of a sudden the car has a tail light that needs fixed. 💸💡
🚓⛓️💥If the car isn't fixed in time, that leads to even more time and expense in court fees, traffic citations, even broken homes from extended incarceration.
We believe we can do more for our communities.
We are a group of volunteers that say “we want to fix your lights for free, because we have the resources and time”. 🌹
We know that these tail light clinics promote safety on our streets, community engagement, extended social support — and every broken light fixed keeps at least 1 more person away from a traffic stop that may then funnel them over to ICE, regardless of their citizenship status or residency. ⛓️💥🚔👮♂️
