Celebrate sustainability and community at the Valentine’s Plant Swap at Vizcaya Village Farmers Market! This event invites plant lovers to share, trade, and connect while learning about propagation and growing practices. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting out, this is your chance to meet Vizcaya horticulture staff, volunteers, and fellow enthusiasts—all while promoting sustainable gardening and cultural heritage. 

Schedule 

• 10:00 AM – Check-in 

• 10:25 AM – Announcements 

• 10:30 AM – Plant Swap begins 

• 11:30 AM – Swap ends 

Swap Guidelines 

• Bring a healthy, pest-free plant (or a few!) to trade—potted or bare root. 

• Label your plants with names and care tips. Only bring well-established plants or rooted cuttings (no fresh snips). 

• This is a true swap—no sales or monetary transactions. 

• Trade fairly: don’t take more than you bring unless agreed upon. 

• Be kind and respectful to fellow plant lovers! 

• Important: Leave invasive plants at home. Check the Florida Invasive Species Partnership list https://www.floridainvasives.org/plantlist.cfm.

This event is free, but registration is required so we can get an accurate head count. Reserve your spot today and tell us what plant you’ll be bringing to the swap in the registration form.

This event takes place during the , a weekly market that takes over the Village every Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

With 40+ local vendors, you’ll find fresh produce, handmade goods, artisanal treats, and more. It’s the perfect pairing for a potluck day—shop local, support small businesses, and discover something new. You can also enjoy additional activities, such as:
