Frame by Frame: Moving Our Waters is a free animation workshop for ages 18-35, using stop-motion and mixed media to amplify BIPOC Voices
Join us for a FREE 4-session Mobile Stop Motion Animation Series in August to September, designed to support and uplift environmental stories of Scarborough individuals ages 18–35 led by artist Claudia Valente and coordinated by Aurelene Maun. GTA individuals are welcome to apply. In this workshop series, you will learn the art of stop-motion animation by repurposing everyday objects and capturing everything directly on your phone. Together, we will create a 1 minute online animated environmental campaign. Our collective campaign will culminate in a showcase website featuring everyone's work, stories and backgrounds!
No animation or artistic experience is needed, just a desire to make a positive impact, connect with new friends, and transform your care for the environment into creative action. We especially encourage folks with racialized backgrounds QTBIPOC and newcomers to register. Limited spots available. Each workshop builds on the previous one, so we ask for commitment to the program by attending all four sessions.
