โ€˜FLOWโ€™ Relaxed Screening in Swansea
WOW x Welsh Refugee Council
๐Ÿ“ Volcano Theatre, Swansea (SA1 1LG)
๐Ÿ—“ Saturday 14 March 2026
โฐ 1pm โ€“ 5pm
FREE EVENT, booking is required.
As part of its WOW Around Wales programme, WOW Film Festival returns to Swansea for one final stop before the festival begins with a relaxed, welcoming afternoon built around the Oscar-winning animated film FLOW.
Presented in collaboration with the Welsh Refugee Council, this event is designed especially with women and families in mind, but everyone is warmly welcome. Weโ€™re creating a calm, inclusive space where children can be themselves, adults can take a breather, and no one feels out of place.
This will be a relaxed screening, meaning a softer, more flexible cinema environment: youโ€™re free to move around, step out if needed, and enjoy the film at your own pace.
๐ŸŽฌ About the film
In Flow, a curious cat sets off on a journey after a great flood transforms the landscape. Along the way, the cat meets a handful of very different animals, and together they learn how to share space, solve problems, and look out for each other.
With no dialogue and breathtaking animation, the film speaks across ages and languages; a gentle, funny and uplifting story that all kids and adults will love.
๐ŸŽž Animation | 85 mins | Suitable for all ages
๐ŸŽฌ Director: Gints Zilbalodis
๐ŸŽจ After the screening:
Following the film, weโ€™ll host a creative drawing and making session inspired by the Welsh Refugee Councilโ€™s heritage work.
Children (and adults!) will be invited to explore ideas of belonging, identity and home, reflecting on Wales through creativity, conversation and shared experience. No artistic skills required; just curiosity and imagination!
โ˜• Refreshments will be provided on the day, giving everyone time to relax, chat and connect.
