(FREE) Rez Film Club: "Hunt for the Wilderpeople"

Rez Film Club is presented by the Native Circle Advisory Board at Circle Cinema and proudly sponsored by the Flint Family Foundation and Cherokee Film. This month, Rez Film Club presents a special 10th anniversary screening of Hunt for the Wilderpeople from Maori filmmaker Taika Waititi! The screening is also in memory of star and beloved actor Sam Neill, who sadly passed away last month.
All admission to Rez Film Club events are FREE and open to the public, plus one FREE small popcorn for each person! Before the film, there will be trivia with prizes hosted by Native Circle.
Originally released in 2016, Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a beautiful story of found family and our relationship with the natural world around us. Writer/director Taika Waititi is Maori, and the film incorporates the culture of Indigenous New Zealanders into the story, playing with expectations through Taika's signature comedy styles.

When a tragedy strikes that threatens to ship Ricky to another home, both he and Hec go on the run in the bush. Upon a national manhunt, the outlaws must face their options: go out in a blaze of glory or overcome their differences and survive as a family. Triumphant, touching, surreal and just about perfect.
