PhoenOx (Oxford University’s first Chinese Dance Society) has partnered with Georgettes of Oxford (an 18th and early 19th century historical dance group) to offer a free workshop looking at both traditional Western European and Chinese historical dance. You will learn some of the contra dances from England, France and Germany from the 18th and early 19th centuries, as well as traditional Chinese dance, including learning about body rhythm.
Wear clothes which are easy to move in, if wearing a skirt, please wear leggings underneath. Ballet shoes or socks on your feet; and do bring a bottle of water with you.
