About this Event
Workshop description
To celebrate the Museum of Oxford’s 50th anniversary in 2025, we are collaborating with groups and individuals across the city to bring together 50 new community stories. We are celebrating and holding space for diverse memories and experiences to create a vibrant community-woven archive that represents Oxford in 2025.
As part of this community project and temporary exhibition, E West is being commissioned by the Museum to create a quilt that represents each of the 50 stories. The quilt will be displayed at the Museum of Oxford between April 2025 – January 2026 as part of the Our Oxford: 50 Years, 50 Stories temporary exhibition. The quilt that E West creates will then be a part of the Museum’s collection and permanently on display from 2026 onwards.
This workshop is your opportunity to be a part of history and contribute to the quilt! Join E West for an evening of textile printmaking, in which you can learn a variety of printing techniques and collaboratively make your mark on the border fabric of the quilt. All are welcome to take part in this creative project!
This is a free event, but please secure your place by booking a ticket. There are 30 places available.
