FREE Pulsar Wildlife Tour 2026 - Stop 4: Attenborough Nature Centre
About this Event
Stop 4 is a collaborative event with the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust.
Come along and discover how Pulsar Wildlife thermal imaging products can seriously enhance your detection capabilities during wildlife observations — by day and at night!
After a discussion around the benefits of thermal imaging and some through the lens demos, we’ll take your questions and then head out for a thermal-guided nature walk around the reserve, so you can see for yourself just how useful these devices can be.
This is a FREE event but ticketed and limited to 40 spaces.
Our event is completely free to attend!
Although we ask for a £5 deposit, this event is completely free to attend.
To help us plan effectively, reduce no-shows and ensure places don't go to waste, we ask for a £5 refundable deposit (inclusive of Eventbrite’s standard booking fees*).
We understand plans can change, so we've kept our refund policy simple and fair:
- If you attend: You'll receive a full refund of your £5 deposit, including all booking fees. The event costs you nothing!
- If you cancel at least 7 days before: You'll receive a full refund of your £5 deposit, including booking fees.
- If you cancel within 7 days of the event: You'll receive your £5 deposit back, minus Eventbrite’s booking fees.
- If you don't attend without cancelling: Your £5 deposit will not be refundable.
Why do we ask for a deposit?
We want everyone who books a place to have the opportunity to attend. A small refundable deposit helps us minimise empty spaces and make the most of our events.
We know unexpected things happen! If circumstances beyond your control prevent you from attending, please get in touch. We're always happy to review exceptional situations fairly.
If we cancel the event, you'll receive a full refund, including booking fees. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
*Eventbrite Booking Fees
Our £5 refundable booking deposit includes Eventbrite's booking fees.
Eventbrite's standard UK booking fee is 6.95% + £0.59 per ticket (approximately £0.94 on a £5 ticket).
Agenda
🕑: 02:10 PM - 02:40 PM
Introduction: Thermal Imaging for Birdwatching and Nature Observation
Info: Our team of experts will talk about how thermal imaging works and how it can enhance your observations in daytime and nighttime conditions. We'll cover the product range, each device's capabilities, digital features, and more, along with some use cases to demonstrate their versatility as a piece of invaluable wildlife observation kit.
🕑: 02:40 PM - 03:10 PM
Setup & Viewing Session
Info: Our experts will distribute thermal devices to those heading out on our thermal-guided nature walk. They will run through setup, operation, and some of the most useful features for the evening's conditions. You'll then have some free time to look through devices set up on tripods on the outdoor decking, with stunning views over the reserve. The light will start to fade around this time, making this the perfect time to see how well thermal works in daylight, low-light, and darkness.
🕑: 03:10 PM - 03:25 PM
Break
Info: We'll take a brief break before we head out onto the reserve. Feel free to use this time to grab a coffee or a bite to eat from the centre's on-site cafe.
🕑: 03:25 PM - 06:25 PM
Thermal Guided Nature Walk
Info: We'll head out onto the reserve for a few hours, taking the Pulsar Wildlife thermal imaging devices with us so you can spend time with each model and see how much wildlife goes unseen. These devices work by detecting heat signatures, rather than relying on visible light, so there is less risk of disturbing animals and more chance of seeing activity you would usually miss! Because the British weather can be unreliable, we recommend wearing warm clothes and appropriate footwear.
🕑: 06:25 PM - 06:45 PM
Break/Browsing
Info: We'll take a much-needed break to warm up, grab a coffee, and browse through the centre's optics store.
🕑: 06:45 PM - 08:00 PM
Round-up and Q&A
Info: We'll use the remainder of the evening to have a relaxed chat about how you got on with thermal imaging and what you would like to see from the devices. We'll use this time as an opportunity to get your feedback and take questions, which we can use to improve future devices.
