This event will be held at 7:30 pm on Friday, February 6th at Unity Center - Milwaukee, 1717 N. 73rd St, Milwaukee WI 53213.
We are honored that Kwan Haeng Sunim, JDPS, will be joining us for this event. He is the Abbot and Co-Guiding Teacher at Providence Zen Center in Cumberland, RI. Kwan Haeng Sunim began practicing Zen meditation in 1986. He became a novice monk in 1999 at Chik Che Sa in South Korea and received full ordination in 2003 at Tong Do Sa. He has lived and practiced mainly at Hwa Gye Sa and Nu Sang Sa in Korea, where he served as Housemaster, Media Director, and Head Monk. He received inka (full authorization to teach) in December 2020.
An introductory talk, "Why Practice?" will be given by Laura Otto-Salaj, Senior Dharma Teacher and Vice Abbot of the Great Lake Zen Center. This talk will be followed by a question and answer period with Kwan Haeng Sunim. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
When coming to the talk, parking is available in the rear near the entrance. Enter the parking lot off 73rd St. Please use the rear entrance to enter the church, off the corner of the parking lot.
