FREE: Planting Greens for a Fall Harvest (NORTH PORTLAND DEMO GARDEN)
About this Event
👋*** Location Note***: We are in the process of transitioning from our North Portland Demo Garden space to our new space in South Tabor. From August-October 2026 we will be teaching workshops in both locations. Be sure to confirm the address and location of the workshop you have signed up for!
September is the last window for planting vegetables that will mature this year in your home garden. Don't miss this chance to extend your harvest into the dark, wet months ahead! You don't need a fancy greenhouse or special equipment to grow an abundant winter garden. We'll prove it!
In this workshop we will discuss which vegetables can be planted at this critical window, and how to plant them for an optimal Fall and Winter harvest. We will discuss all kinds of leafy greens including: kale, collard greens, chard, lettuce, spinach, arugula, mustard greens, mizuna, bok choi, and more!
Come on down and join in the fun!
All classes at the Demonstration Garden are FREE and All Are Welcome!
If you have the means to add a donation, your contribution will go directly to local non-profits dedicated to supporting home vegetable gardeners, food access and food security in our community.
