It's essential to test your water every year to safeguard your family's health. Wells can become contaminated with bacteria and other contaminants that can make you sick. Chippewa County is offering free nitrate screening for private wells. Bring in about 8 ounces of water in a closed container (preferably glass) collected within 24 hours of the event. It is important to run the tap for 5 minutes (on cold at full flow) before collecting the sample. You can bring your sample to Room 121 in the County Courthouse on January 15th between 1:00 and 4:30 p.m.
