Free Lecture - The Declaration of Independence

The South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum is starting our Independence Day celebration a day earlier: At noon on Friday, July 3, award-winning history teacher Mike Burgess will deliver a free lecture titled “We Hold These Truths to be Self-evident – the Declaration of Independence at 250.” The lecture is open to the public as part of the museum’s regular Noon Debrief program.
We also invite you to join us, as early as 11 am, for "Declaration Day." A a free, family-friendly event featuring re-enactors and history enthusiasts in the museum's Atrium from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors can handle historical objects, make pomander balls, craft a flag and explore artifacts and displays tied to South Carolina's role in the American Revolution.
