Thursday, July 11th, The Firehouse will be hosting a free league night to start off our 8-week hatchet league!This will be a split-day league, meaning league members can choose to either participate every Wednesday evening, or every Thursday evening for 8 weeks.
Anybody possibly interested in joining our league or curious to learn more is invited to attend and see what leagues are all about! Rather you wish to attend solo or bring along a friend, our first night will be free to anybody wanting to participate. Everything needed to participate will be supplied by The Firehouse. On the first night, rules and scoring will be covered along with all other league related information. This will be followed by our first matches of the season! Should participants decide to sign up for the remaining 7 weeks of the league, standard league pricing shall apply ($27.50 weekly or $165.00 in advance). League shirts will be ordered after the second league night, for all league members choosing to stay for the remainder of the league season.
Why Join Leagues?
Leagues are a great stress reliever, providing league members a new event to look forward to each week! Slice through the hump day blues and sharpen your skills as you compete with upbeat likeminded individuals who all came out to throw axes, jam out, and have a great time. While league nights are a continual competition, Firehouse staff and the other throwers function more as a supportive community, than the opposing team. Offering support and cheering on their competition, league members love to see the other throwers improve! Firehouse coaches are present each night to function as both refs, and to coach newer throwers.
When Are The League Nights?
Starting on the 10th, League members will meet every Wednesday or Thursday (Depending on which week night you choose to participate) at 7pm for warm up throws followed by league throwing and competition. The Summer Hatchet League will run for a total of 8 weeks, with Thursday, Aug 28th/29th being the last nights.
Do I Need My Own Axe?
League members are welcome to use their own personal hatchets, as long as they meet WATL hatchet requirements. League members are also supplied "house axes" for league play at no additional cost.
