This course is designed to empower fathers with the knowledge and confidence to support their partner and baby during pregnancy, labor, and the early postpartum period.

Participants will explore:

• Participants will explore: Helping partners stay alert: recognizing pregnancy danger signs.
• Expected Care & Support: A Guide for Men Supporting Pregnancy.
• Recommendations: A Guide for Men Supporting Pregnancy
• How to speak up and contact a midwife or OB/GYN right away for urgent reasons.
• From Home to Hospital: Navigating Triage with Confidence
• Who Supports You? Choosing the right Support Person for the Father
• Showing Up! Supporting Mom and Baby in the Hospital
• What Dads Should Do Before Mom and Baby Go Home.
• What Men Should Expect in the First Month After Birth (Mother & Baby)
• How Men Can Prepare Financially for a New Baby (On a Low Income)
• Guest dads speakers will share real-life experiences and insight

Each participant will receive a curated list of resources.

Instructor Bio:

Kayann Stephens, from Childbirth Now is a licensed registered nurse, who has worked with the top OB and midwife practices throughout the tri-state. She brings her expertise in pregnancy and childbirth to the Family Wellness Suite at the Harlem Neighborhood Health Action Center.
