Sirkus & Teatteriyhdistys Aura Company järjestää lauantaina 16.11 klo: 19 teatterissaan hyväntekeväisyyssirkusgaalan, jonka tuotto kohdistetaan kokonaisuudessaan Free Gaza Circus-järjestön hyväksi. Hyväntekeväisyysgaalassa esiintyy sirkustaiteen ammattilaisia. Sirkustaitelijoista gaalassa ovat mukana mm. Jani Suihkonen, Elsa Pakkasvirta, Sampo Kurppa, Hanna Närhisalo, Markus Nivala, Eszter Bako ja Heikki Tolin. Gaalassa on mukana myös Circus Lounge. Tämän lisäksi gaalassa saadaan kokea tanssia ja musiikkia. Free Gaza Circus on perustettu 2018, ja siitä lähtien se on tarjonnut tuhansille gazalaisille lapsille sirkusesityksiä ja sirkusopetusta. Lokakuussa 2023 Free Gaza Circus joutui poistumaan sodan vuoksi sirkustilastaan. Pommitusten keskellä Free Gaza Circus on jatkanut kuitenkin työtänsä kiertämällä pakolaisleireillä ja turvakodeissa esityksillään ja muilla sirkusaktiviteeteillaan. Tällä tavalla se on pyrkinyt lievittämään lasten kärsimystä ja surua. Viime aikoina Free Gaza Circus on kohdannut paljon menetyksiä, mutta näistä vastoinkäymisistä huolimatta se on jatkanut sirkustoimintaansa vapaaehtoisesti vaikeissa oloissa eläville lapsille ja nuorille. ”Tavoitteenamme on lohduttaa lapsia heidän kohtaamastaan karusta todellisuudesta, ja levittää toivoa ja iloa”, kertoo Free Gaza Circus-järjestön perustaja Mohammed Khader.
Myös Sirkus & Teatteriyhdistys Aura Company on perustettu vuonna 2018. Yhdistys toimii laajasti Turun alueella sirkustaiteen toteuttajana ja kehittäjänä. Aura Company tietää oman opetus- ja esitystoimintamme kautta, mitä sirkus voi merkitä sitä kokevalle lapselle. Free Gaza Circus-hyväntekeväisyysgaalan järjestämällä Aura Company haluaa osoittaa solidaarisuuttaan heikossa asemassa olevalle gazalaiselle sirkustoimijalle, joka levittää iloa ja toivoa lapsille sodan keskellä.
Gaalan aikana saadaan myös suora yhteys Gazaan Free Gaza Circus-järjestön perustajaan Mohammed Khaderiin, joka kertoo tämänhetkisestä tilanteesta Gazassa.
Hyväntekeväisyysgaala on perheystävällinen, joten myös lapset ovat todella tervetulleita seuraamaan hienoja esityksiä. Tule yleisöksi gaalaan ja auta.

Sirkus & Teatteriyhdistys Aura Company is organising charity circus gala on Saturday, November 16th at 7pm in their theatre. All ticket proceeds will be donated to the Free Gaza Circus.The charity gala will feature professional circus artists. Circus artists performing at the gala includes e.g. Jani Suihkonen, Elsa Pakkasvirta, Sampo Kurppa, Hanna Närhisalo, Markus Nivala, Eszter Bako and Heikki Tolin. Circus Lounge will also be present at the gala. The gala will also feature dance and music.
Since its inception in 2018, the Free Gaza Circus has been a sanctuary for thousands of children, offering shows and a studio space until the unfortunate displacement caused by the conflict in October 2023. Amidst the war, the circus has adapted by traveling to refugee camps and shelters, striving to alleviate the immense suffering through their art. In recent times, the troupe has faced significant losses, including their homes, studio, and the tragic death of fellow artists. Despite these hardships, the circus persists, volunteering to perform for youth in dire conditions. "Our aim is to comfort the children from the harsh realities they face and spread hope and joy," shares Mohammed Khader.
Sirkus & Teatteriyhdistys Aura Company was also founded in 2018 and it operates extensively in Turku area, performing, teaching and developing circus arts. Through their own teaching and performing activities, Aura Company knows what circus can mean to a child who experience it. By organising the Free Gaza Circus Charity Gala, Aura Company wants to show its solidarity with a vulnerable circus organisation in Gaza who spreads joy and hope to children in the middle of war.
During the gala, we also get in touch with the founder of the Free Gaza Circus, Mohammed Khader, who tells us what's happening in Gaza at the moment.
The charity gala is family-friendly, so children are also very welcome to watch the wonderful performances. Be part of the audience and help.
