FREE FAMILY WORKSHOP : The Impact of Addiction and the Journey to Recovery

Families carry both great love and great challenges. When addiction impacts a loved one, the entire family is affected.

This free family addiction workshop in Long Beach is designed to offer families hope, healing, and practical tools for building resilience and achieving recovery. Hosted by the New Found Life Foundation, this event offers families, loved ones, and professionals a morning of education and support.

While the primary focus is on families living with addiction’s impact, behavioral health professionals are also welcome to attend and benefit from the workshop.

Louise Stanger, EdD, LCSW

Award-Winning Clinician• Interventionist• Educator• Author• Keynote Speaker

Dr Stanger earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Pittsburgh, Masters in Social Work from San Diego State College and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of San Diego. Louise has thirty years experience as a professor, researcher (NIH-NIAAA) and clinician. She is Director of All About Interventions and the Director of Clinical Relations at Intervention Specialists. Louise is a MINT Trainer of Trainers and teaches at San Diego State University Interwork Institute. Previously she was a professor at SDSU School of Social Work and the Director of Alcohol and Other Drug Services at the University of San Diego. Louise also worked as a catastrophic loss counselor with the New York Fire Department and widows of 9-11. She loves working with family and friends, helping everyone in the recovery process.

Kirk Porter

Kirk Porter is a certified interventionist and highly respected expert in the field of addiction. He speaks nationally and is a widely recognized recovery resource. He is also a business owner, corporate coach, documentarian, and producer, co-founding and lending his unique skill set to several successful business endeavors, films, and albums. In recovery himself for over 25 years, he is committed to helping educate, create awareness, and find solutions, for all whose lives are touched by the disease of addiction.

This event is presented by the New Found Life Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to public education on addiction and its impact on families. This event is co-hosted by New Found Life in Long Beach, a nationally recognized treatment provider with over 30 years of service to individuals and families.
