From Hearts to History: A Family Celebration of AmericaCelebrate history, creativity, and togetherness at this fun, family-friendly event! Hearts & Heroes brings George Washington’s birthday together with America’s 250th anniversary for a day filled with hands-on activities, games, and crafts for all ages. Learn about Washington’s legacy, make festive valentines, and explore the spirit of the 1700s in an engaging and approachable way. Join us as we celebrate the heart of our nation’s story—past and present!
Creative Activities Include:
- Folding and decorating a letter-locking love note (also known as a “puzzle purse” Valentine), a popular tradition in the American colonies as early as the 1700s
- Creating a tricorn hat inspired by the Founding Fathers
- Cutting and assembling homemade Valentine’s cards
