The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is offering a free job training program in January 2026 to train unemployed or underemployed residents living near the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard Superfund site for environmental jobs. This program will provide participants with multiple certifications at no charge and prepare them for careers in environmental cleanup work. The program can also help people connect to other training and career opportunities.
Trainings include:
- Hazardous Materials Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) 40-Hour Certification
- OSHA-10 General Industry Certification
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Lead Related Construction Worker
- Cal/OSHA Asbestos Worker Initial
To learn more and apply, you MUST attend ONE of the 60-minute information sessions held on:
- Wednesday, December 10--10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., or 4:00 p.m.
- Thursday, December 11--10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., or 4:00p.m.
- Wednesday, December 17--10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., or 4:00 p.m.
- Thursday, December 18--10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., or 4:00 p.m.
- Monday, December 29--10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., or 4:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, December 30--10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., or 4:00 p.m.
Requirements for participation in this training program include:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Able to legally work in the U.S.
- Participate in drug testing.
