This is the second of four Fall and Winter Wilderness First Aid Quick Topic classes. We
are happy to be able to do this class in conjunction with Rendezvous Adventure
Outfitters in Wichita, Kansas!
The class will be about 90 minutes long and will be focused on interactive hands-on
learning.
What will we do?
- Show you the basics of successfully assessing a patient for traumatic injuries or
medical conditions
- Demonstrate how to stabilize a patient with traumatic injuries until help arrives (head,
neck, limb, chest, pelvic and other. injuries)
- Show how to splint bone injuries and use a sling and swath
- How to treat severe bleeding including direct pressure, wound packing and tourniquet
use
- Basics of moving an injured patient
This is a lot for a 90 minute class so we will need to move along quickly but it will be
great information to know.
