Free Chopin Piano Recital by Tiantian Gao at Forsyth Music Shop

We first heard 12-year-old Tiantian play when she visited Forsyth for a lesson with Murray McLachlan, and we were so impressed that we invited her to return and give a recital!

She will perform a beautiful all-Chopin programme, featuring a Ballade, Études, a Nocturne and a Waltz, plus a rarely-heard early set of Variations on a theme by Mozart, and concluding with the dazzling Andante spianato et grande polonaise brillante.

ABOUT THE PERFORMER

Tiantian Gao, aged 12, is currently studying piano with Dr Murray McLachlan at Chetham's School of Music.

At the age of nine, she was awarded the ATCL diploma with Distinction from Trinity College London, followed by the LTCL diploma with Distinction at the age of ten. At the age of eleven, she was successfully awarded the FTCL diploma and achieved Distinction in ABRSM Grade 8 Theory.

In 2024, she won First Prize at both the EPTA UK National Piano Competition and the London Chopin Competition. In 2025, she was the winner of the Junior Section in the Chetham's Keyboard Department Annual Celebration.

Besides piano, she enjoys reading, drawing, languages, and composition.
