“Fred Talks To…” is a monthly live interview series hosted by legendary music journalist Fred Bronson, bringing audiences face-to-face with the icons, storytellers, and cultural voices who’ve shaped the entertainment world. Set in the elegant, Old Hollywood ambiance of The Velvet Martini Lounge at Vitello’s in Studio City, each event offers a rare, up-close experience you simply won’t find anywhere else.

With a career spanning five decades, Fred Bronson has interviewed some of the biggest names in music and entertainment—Paul McCartney, Mariah Carey, ABBA, Smokey Robinson, Carole King, and countless others—through his work with Billboard, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Rolling Stone, and the Los Angeles Times. Kym Karath starred in the most beloved musical of all time, playing five-year-old Gretl von Trapp in the film version of The Sound of Music. Her father owned a restaurant on the Sunset Strip, Gee Gee’s, but Kym was discovered at his other restaurant, Albert Allen’s, on Melrose, when a casting agent saw her and invited her to play Henry Fonda and Maureen O’Hara’s daughter in Spencer’s Mountain, when Kym was only three. Soon after, she was cast as James Garner and Doris Day’s daughter in The Thrill Of It All, and then as the daughter of Jack Lemmon and Dorothy Provine in Good Neighbor Sam, so she had motion picture experience before director Robert Wise hired her for The Sound of Music. Multiple TV roles followed, including the series My Three Sons, Dr.Kildare, Lassie, Playhouse 90, Peyton Place, The F.B.I. and The Brady Bunch. On Sept. 5, Kym will reveal behind-the-scenes stories from The Sound of Music, explain why she stopped acting, and bring us up to date on her life and family. The hills will be alive and you won’t want to miss this fascinating interview, live on stage in The Velvet Martini Lounge, upstairs at Vitello’s in Studio City for a Saturday brunch.

Following the interview, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a live audience Q&A—because sometimes the best questions come from the room.
