A sigh of relief. Fi-nal-ly an evening with 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗩𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗲́𝗲 and Dré Pallemaerts.
In the 1990s, they shook things up together in De Hopper. Everything that came after only got better. Two fantastic careers of equally fantastic musicians crossing paths again tonight at Walter.
This time, they meet in the music of Kenny Wheeler. Beautiful compositions, forever engraved in everyone’s ears by the sound of Wheeler’s trumpet and flugelhorn. And Vaganée and The Disciplined Decipels perform this music without trumpet and without piano. Music for Large and Small Ensembles already deserves a spot on your autumn playlist.
First, Vaganée invites the cream of his former students. 𝗘𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 graduated magna cum laude from LUCA School of Arts in Frank’s class in 2023. She presents a trio with Matthias De Waele and Jim Monneau.
