Have you ever tasted a meal and wondered where the ingredients came from?
Not the supermarket.
Not the distributor.
But the actual soil where they were grown.
In a world of convenience, there's something deeply satisfying about understanding the journey from seed to plate — and meeting the people who make it possible.
Join acclaimed chef Francky Godinho for a unique Learning Lunch that begins not at the dining table, but in the garden.
At St Georges Restaurant, Francky has created a remarkable organic vegetable garden that sits at the heart of the restaurant's philosophy. Together, we'll explore the gardens where much of the restaurant's produce is grown, harvested and prepared before sitting down to enjoy a beautiful seasonal lunch.
Along the way, Francky will share his story — from growing up on a family farm in Goa, India, to building an international culinary career that has taken him around the world before finding a home in Hawke's Bay.
This is more than a conversation about food.
It's about place, sustainability, family, craftsmanship and the simple pleasure of growing something with care.
Expect wonderful stories, a guided garden experience, delicious seasonal food and meaningful conversation around the table.
