Foundations of Coaching Bootcamp for Howard County K12 Educators & Leaders

Howard County K12 education professionals are invited to participate in this 15-hour immersive training. This multi-day bootcamp will equip participants with new skills to foster student success, enhance classroom engagement, and cultivate a supportive, team-oriented school culture, leading to improved academic outcomes and well-being for all.

Registration is FREE for ALL Howard County K12 professionals and is sponsored by the Howard County Health Department. The curriculum has been developed by Indiana Wesleyan University in line with the International Coaching Federation's standards and core competencies.

Upon completion of the 15-hour training, particpants will earn:

1. Certificate of completion in "Foundations of Coaching"
2. 15 PGP points towards their Indiana educator licence recertification
3. 3 credits from Indiana Wesleyan University (bootcamp has been assessed for 3 credits of prior learning for LCT 431: Foundations of Life Coaching from Indiana Wesleyan University National & Global)

• Bootcamp #1: Monday, March 25 (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) and Tuesday, March 26 (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
• Bootcamp #2: Friday, April 12 (6 - 9 p.m.), Saturday, April 13 (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.), and Sunday, April 14 (1 - 5 p.m.)
• Bootcamp #3: Monday, June 3 (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) and Tuesday, June 4 (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
• Bootcamp #4: Monday, July 29 (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) and Tuesday, July 30 (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

Day 1:

• 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.: Registration and check-in with coffee available
• 8:00 a.m. (sharp): Bootcamp begins
• 12:30 p.m.: Lunch (30 minutes catered lunch)
• 1:00 p.m.: Class resumes
• 4:30 p.m.: End of day 1

Day 2:

• 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.: Registration and check-in with coffee available
• 8:00 a.m. (sharp): Bootcamp begins
• 12:30 p.m.: Lunch (30 minutes catered lunch)
• 1:00 p.m.: Class resumes
• 4:20 p.m.: Certificates presented with photos taken
• 4:30 p.m.: End of day 2 and program

• Cognitive functioning such as flexible thinking styles and the ability to see alternate solutions
• Academic success, including GPA and test scores
• Ability to manage stress and develop action steps for success
• Overall well-being and positive outlook

• Coaching encourages collaborative and reflective practice in teachers, which reflects in their work with both students and fellow educators.
• Effective and instilled professional learning promotes a positive cultural change in a school or system.
• Coaching promotes accountability between colleagues and the implementation of improved learning methods.
• Coaching supports collective leadership and the exchange of ideas across a school system.
