A fascinating journey back in time to 300 million years ago, discovering the geology and fossils of the Frome Valley.
About this Event

The Frome Valley stretches for 20 miles, dating back 300 million years in time. Join Steve England on a fascinating journey back in time along the Frome Valley, taking us back before the dinosaurs evolved, and learn how the rocks were formed, discover the fossils within the valley, and learn all about the prehistoric features that tell a fascinating story.

We will meet at Snuff Mills Car Park (please note this is now a pay and display car park). The route will be circular including Oldbury Court and will take approximately 2-3 hours.

Please note this event is aimed at adult learning. It is suitable to bring children along but content is not primarily aimed at children.

What to Bring?

Please wear sturdy footwear and gloves and bring a notepad, pen and camera to record your findings! Bring your own refreshments - a flask with warming contents will keep you toasty on what may be a cold February day!

Cancellation/Postponing due to Poor Weather

SE Outdoor Learning events take place outdoors, and therefore unfortunately we may need to be postponed or cancelled in the days leading up to the event if it seems that the weather will be too poor for it to be run safely. We will always aim to confirm cancellation of the event 24 - 48 hours in advance (though on very rare occassions, sudden weather changes may mean its closer than this). Please keep an eye on your emails and Facebook for information regarding this. If you cannot make the postponed date, a voucher can be provided for attendance to any future SEOL event.
