Fort Bend County 2026 Pecan Show

Whether you manage a large orchard OR just have that special pecan variety in your backyard, ENTER once your pecans are ready! Deadline is November 12th.

Neighboring counties of Fort Bend County that do not have their own county pecan show are invited to participate. Exhibiting and placing at the county level qualifies to compete at the regional and possibly state level! See official rules list below:

Exhibiting your pecan(s) at the county level qualifies you to compete at the regional and state level if you place at the county level.

NOTE! You do not have to enter here - this site is mainly to indicate the rules and information purposes. You may bring your pecans to our office once ready and complete and entry form in person.

Pecan Show Rules are:

• Pecans must be from the current year crop and have been grown by the entrant in Fort Bend County. Pecans can be entered in only one county pecan show. Neighboring counties to Fort Bend County that do not have their own pecan show are invited to participate. Any entries not grown in Fort Bend County must be labeled as “out of county”. Out of county entries can also be entered as an At-Large Entry and directly sent by the grower to the Texas Pecan Growers Association by their deadline. Click here to visit their page with details.

• The grower may submit only one entry per variety. However, the grower may enter as many seedlings, known hybrids or natives as desired. All of the nuts in the entry must be of the same variety (nuts from different trees are permitted as long as they are of the same variety). Entries with mixed varieties will be disqualified.

• Pecan varieties will be judged in one of these divisions: Commercial Division, Classic Division, and New Division, or Natives Division. Pecan varieties have been assigned to each division. The Natives Division includes entries for the smallest pecan determined by the greatest number of nuts per pound.

• An entry consists of a minimum of 40 pecans with 45 preferred (in shell, uncracked) of a single variety). The finest nuts should be carefully selected in preparing an entry. Nuts should be uniform in shape, size and general appearance. Entries with insufficient nuts or those that have been cut, sanded, polished or otherwise altered will be disqualified. Avoid entering green nuts or those affected by pests or disease. Pecans must be of current year’s crop.

• The entry must be securely bagged or boxed and include a tag or label with the entrant’s name, physical address, email address, telephone number, and the variety of pecan. If you are unsure of the variety, simply tag it as “variety unknown”. You may also get a form from our office to place on your bag.

• No entry fee; Open to all ages provided crops are grown by the entrant. All entries become the property of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension – Fort Bend County.

Deadline: Entries must be dropped off no later than Thursday, November 12, 2026 at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office - Fort Bend County (Annex Bldg.) 1436 Band Road, Rosenberg, TX.

No late entries accepted!

Judging: Entries will be judged following the entry deadline and results will be exhibited at the Pecan Harvest Festival of Richmond on Saturday, November 21, 2026 on Morton Street at historic downtown Richmond, Texas. (Winners will be notified so that photos can be taken.)
