Marcos Affonso is a dance teacher from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Since his childhood he had contact with dance. His professionalization started at the age of 22, when he started investing in a variety of training courses, with emphasis in forró, the popular cuban dance (with studies in Havana), the” Samba de Gafieira” and the tango. In 2010 he graduated in dance at the Federal University of Bahia.
He teach “roots” and “universitário” styles of forró and also emphasizes in musicality, connection and new possibilities of movement, ranging from spontaneous
creation to the interrelation of forró with other dances.
Since 2018 he travels to Europe to teach Forró. He has held many workshops at Forró Dance Festivals in Italy, Great Britain, Germany and Switzerland as well as regular classes in a lot of towns all over Europe.
For the first time he will visit Graz an provide two workshops, one for beginners and one for intermediate level.
The workshops will take place in cooperation with the dancing community Forró Graz.
