Form Study - The Spokane (Tuesdays 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM)

Dates: This class runs Tuesdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, starting November 19th and running for 3 weeks (skipping one week for the Thanksgiving holiday).

Additionally, a performance opportunity or opportunities will be offered to the participants of this course at a future Coalition Theater show / shows.

Instructor: Casey Searles

Casey Searles moved from Chicago to Richmond in 2022, and is thrilled to be performing and teaching at The Coalition Theater. Since joining Coalition, Casey has been a part of Improvised The Office, The Unofficial Taskmaster, Hear Me Out: An Improvised Musical, Can't Hardly Date, and currently performs bi-weekly with Wolf Night. While in Chicago, Casey studied and performed improv at venues all over the city, including iO, The Annoyance, Second City, Logan Square Improv, and The Bughouse. In addition to improv, Casey has also acted in plays, films, TV, and sketch shows. Casey’s other hobbies include ceramics, printmaking, cooking, reading, and adventuring.

You'll explore how to craft a rich, interconnected narrative, starting from a single source scene and spinning off into multiple storylines, like spokes on a wheel. With a focus on deepening connections between characters and events, you'll learn to weave complex, engaging plots while maintaining spontaneity and flow. Through targeted exercises and collaborative scene work, this course will challenge you to think creatively, embrace unpredictability, and build a cohesive narrative world that surprises and delights both performers and audiences.

COST: $75

The Coalition Theater is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Once classes begin, all sales are final. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that prevent you from attending or completing your registered class. While we do our best to accommodate such situations, refunds are awarded only as credit for a future class or shows and are subject to the discretion of The Coalition Theater management.
