Pace: Slow

Difficulty: Moderate, including some rocky inclines and uneven surfaces. As such, this venue is not suitable for those with mobility limitations.

About the walk: Learn how to “read” the forested landscape with environmental archaeologist, Dr. Naomi Riddiford, on a slow-paced nature walk at Quarter Mile Pond in Medford, MA. We will search for clues to past events that have influenced the landscape around us, spanning the last Ice Age to the most recent winter storms. We will also consider natural history and people’s role in environmental change.
