About this Event
Join me for a restorative nature experience!
I'm a conservation biologist and PhD candidate studying what time in nature does to restore the human brain and how we build relationships with the natural world. I'm also a certified nature and forest therapy guide that grew up in San Diego. This walk is part of the Natural Intelligence Project, where I translate that research into experiences you can actually have outside.
We will meet in the parking lot by the bathrooms and spend two hours experiencing the beauty of an urbran oak forest. I will share with you a little history of the land and then we will slow down and use our senses to fully appreciate the sounds, sights, and smells on the trails. After we do a little exploring, we will stop and sit to have a little chat about what we are noticing. But, mostly we will be paying attention to the nature that is around us.
This is not a hike or a natural history walk. We will be walking slowly, so we can fully notice Leave your headphones at home and have your phone on Do Not Disturb. Think of this as a chance to have a two hour tech detox in an urban park.
