For The Love of Jazz: A Valentines Day Jazz Benefit Experience

They’ve been telling this story for ages, but it seems to be the first time we all are living the same dating experiences: you meet someone, you fall head over heels, you get the ick, you break it off, you feel free, until regret creeps in, and will-we-wont-we seems to take over your entire life until someone puts up or shuts up- rinse and repeat.

If you haven’t been there yourself, you almost certainly know one person that has lived it.

Funny enough, these cycles have been present in jazz music dating back to the 1950’s, which can be both comforting and terrifying (if you don’t think about it too hard).

This perfomance aims to tell those stories, colored with all of the drama and passion that your college roommates who broke up three times, got back together, then eventually got married had-but with the class of our heroes of jazz.

This show is intended to pay homage to the greats of jazz and swing: Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Chet Baker, Sam Cooke, Nat King Cole, and many more.

There are social dance aspects built into this hour long show, so participating audiences not only have the option to enjoy the performance, but also dance along with the performers.

We hope you enjoy this interpretation of a modern-day dating story, as told through the songs of the greats of jazz.
