FOOD ROOTS Film Screening | Los Angeles
About this Event
FOOD ROOTS is an award-winning Filipino food documentary following two-time Emmy Award winning restaurateur Billy Dec — founder of Sunda New Asian — on a journey through the 7,641 islands of the Philippines to find his last living elders and learn the authentic Filipino recipes of his ancestors. From bustling cities to remote mountain villages above the clouds, this is a story about Filipino heritage, immigrant family, and the food that holds a culture together.
An incredible team helped bring the film to life: 3-time Oscar-winning EP Doug Blush (20 Feet from Stardom), Emmy-winning Director Michele Josue (Matt Shepard is a Friend of Mine), Grammy-winning apl.de.ap (Black Eyed Peas), and COACT Agency.
Stay for a live Q&A with Director, Michele Josue, Executive Producer, Doug Blush, and filmmaker, Billy Dec immediately following the screening. Then join the filmmakers at The Famous Bar Craft Bar (just across the street - 154 S. Brand Blvd.) for casual after-party (cash bar).
