Food of Love: Staunton

Join Three Notch’d Road this Valentine’s Day for a Baroque ”jukebox musical” blending Italian pastoral drama with theater from the British Isles. Divided into three chapters (Eros, Philia, and Agape), this program celebrates love in all of its forms with passion-filled laments, comedic ballads, and transcendent airs. Vocal and instrumental chamber works include selections from Antonio Vivaldi’s Juditha triumphans, Thomas Arne’s Love in a Village, Giovanni Bononcini’s Muzio Scevola, and song settings by Henry Purcell.
