About this Event
Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering
This one-day course is suitable for anyone involved with handling, preparing or cooking food, including chefs, care staff, community volunteers, home cooking, etc. The course will enable handlers of any background to gain the knowledge that will help produce safe food. Today's ever-more knowledgeable and demanding customers expect no less.
No previous knowledge is required to attend and, if required, there will be plenty of opportunity to get answers to individual questions or queries.
The course covers:
- The causes and prevention of food poisoning
- Basic microbiology
- Allery & intolerance
- Food storage and handling
- Personal hygiene
- Cleaning and disinfection
- Pest control
- Design and construction of premises and equipment
- Food safety management & HACCP
The awarding body: Highfield Qualifications (RQF)
