The next Galvin Green Man Food Book Club event is on Tuesday 3rd February with food writer Torie True and her new book Seven Kitchens: A Journey Through India’s Culinary Heritage RRP £25. The book explores the rich diversity of Indian cuisine through history, culture and food. Featuring over 100 achievable recipes, the book journeys through seven distinct culinary traditions, from Anglo-Indian and Mughal influences to Goan Portuguese, Indo-Chinese, Parsi and Tibetan Nepalese cuisines, blending well-known favourites with lesser-known regional dishes.Drawing on more than 20 years of experience and extensive travel in India, Torie True combines accessible recipes with historical insight and evocative photography.
Torie is also the author of Chilli & Mint: Indian Home Cooking from a British Kitchen which was published in 2021 and subsequently shortlisted for a Gourmand World Cookbook Award. Torie has been mastering the arts of Indian cooking for over 20 years and inspires others to cook with spices in her cookery classes, demonstrations and book tour talks. A member of the Guild of Food Writers and a Great Taste Judge, Torie lives in London with her husband and two daughters.
