Do you want to optimize your immune response so that you are more resilient during cold & flu season? This fun hands-on class will teach you the basics of how the immune system works, focusing on how to strengthen your body’s defenses using foods and herbs as medicine to help keep the bad bugs at bay. We will make and taste different immune supportive recipes, and you will craft your own herbal syrup to take home. We will also demonstrate some useful hydrotherapy techniques and discuss how to support your body if you do get an upper respiratory infection.

About the Teachers:
Marty Ingram, ND is a naturopathic doctor providing holistic care at Kalmia Wellness, located upstairs in the Black Creek Arts Center. She is passionate about helping people transform their health on a foundational level, so that they can thrive instead of just survive! She enjoys listening deeply to each person’s story and putting all the pieces together to determine what foods, nutrients, herbs, and other natural remedies will best support their unique situation. Glenn Ingram, ND is a naturopathic doctor, teacher, and carpenter. He taught Anatomy and Physiology at Blue Ridge Community College for ten years while also working with his wife (Dr. Marty) at Through the Woods Natural Health in Brevard, North Carolina. He has always loved teaching, and has led numerous community classes and plant walks. Since moving back to Hartsville in 2020, Glenn primarily works as a carpenter with his own business, Ingram Carpentry.
