WBEZ is proud to partner with Robert’s Westside for the 5th Annual Food Aid Festival, a two-day musical celebration addressing food insecurity in Chicago’s West Side communities and neighboring suburbs.
Food Aid’s mission is to prevent individuals and their families from experiencing hunger. We believe that food insecurity should not exist, as the right to food is a human right. Through music and entertainment, Food Aid will serve as an important funding source for interconnected community organizations and initiatives aimed at addressing food insecurity.
This year’s Food Aid Beneficiaries include: A House In Austin, Austin Eats Initiative, Best Of Proviso Township, Beyond Hunger, the Oak Park Community Fridges, and Westchester Food Pantry.
Shemekia Copeland headlines day 2 of the festival. Shemekia Copeland possesses one of the most instantly recognizable and deeply soulful roots music voices of our time. The multi-GRAMMY nominee is beloved and honored worldwide for the fearlessness, honesty, and humor of her revelatory songs, as well as for her winning, engaging personality. General Admission: $55 + Service Fees
GA + Reserved Table: $70 + service fees
General Admission tickets do not include reserved seating. There will be limited GA seating available for the concert and it will be first-come, first-served. If you need a seat, please purchase reserved seating.

The Food Aid Block Party will also take place on Day 2 of the festival from 12 PM - 6:30 PM in a new location - right across the street from Robert’s in the public parking lot located across the street. Featuring High & Lonesome, Strawdaddy, Cheryl Tomblin & more to be announced. A $20 Entry Donation is encouraged.
