Speaker Bio:
Sam Borstein is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Texas State University in San Marcos. Sam’s research focuses on better understanding the ecological and evolutionary factors that have led to the stunning diversity of fishes and has allowed them to become the most diverse group of vertebrates. Although Sam’s research broadly addresses the global diversity of fishes, much of his work focuses on cichlid fishes as a model to understand ecological and evolutionary processes.
