About this Event
CELEBRATING OWL EYES WILDERNESS SURVIVAL'S 10th ANNIVERSARY!
Do you have an interest in fly fishing but don't know where to start? This is the class for you! This foundational class will set you up with everything you need to know to get started on your own fly fishing journey. Students will learn about rod and line selection for what type of water and species of fish they would like to go after. We will also cover different types of flies, knots, and other needed gear you will need for a successful day on the water. As a group, we will learn how to cast in different situations and scenarios. The last hour of class allows students to get out on the river and try to catch a fish! Possible fish species include rainbow trout, brook trout, brown trout, and fall fish.
SKILLS COVERED:
- Rod, Reel, and Line Selection/Setup
- Fly Classification and Selection

This class is geared for adults, however mature minors are welcome to join. We do not set an age minimum but rather set a maturity standard. It is up to the parents to decide if they feel their child or teen is mature enough for this class. All students are expected to maintain a level of respect for all students and carry themselves as individuals. If you feel your child will be interruptive to the flow of class, or hinder your independent learning, this class will not be for them and we encourage you to look at our children's survival classes, which are specifically structured for kids. Students below the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The ticket price covers the cost of 1 student, regardless of age.
This class will be taught by Tim Swanson, founder and lead instructor of Owl Eyes Wilderness Survival will be teaching this class. For more information on Tim's background and experience, please click HERE.
