Create a beautiful floral embroidery with textile artist Lucy Freeman during this day workshop at RSPB Loch Leven.Learn how to use four simple stitches to paint with thread, blending colours and layering delicate details in an expressive style.
We will start from the basics of threading a needle so all abilities are welcome. Lucy’s embroidery artwork will be on display throughout the workshop for inspiration, as well as a variety of drawings, templates and botanical illustrations.
Your ticket includes all the materials: fabric, threads, an embroidery hoop and needle, as well as instructional sheets and access to video tutorials so you can continue to learn more after the workshop. Plus, you can take everything away with you to continue sewing at home!
Suitable for ages 14+ and all abilities . Tea, Coffee and Biscuits provided, but please bring your own lunch (or visit our Cafe during the lunch break). During your lunch break you'll have time to explore the reserve for some wildlife watching (car parking is included in the ticket price).
Artists Bio:
Lucy Freeman is a textile artist based in Edinburgh. Merging the traditional craft of embroidery with contemporary design, her work is full of vibrant colours, painterly stitching and delicate botanical and floral imagery.
Lucy creates wall hangings and framed embroideries entirely by hand, often working on a large scale rarely seen in embroidery. She is an experienced tutor, having taught workshops across the UK for the last eight years, as well as producing a successful range of embroidery kits, which have been sold in John Lewis and Liberty.@lucyfreeman_design
